Gross 680 g; empty spool 220 g; initial net 1000 g; purchase price USD 25.

Calculation steps

1. Net = 680 − 220 = 460 g.
2. Value = 460 ÷ 1000 × 25 = USD 11.50.

Result

460 g remain, worth USD 11.50 at original unit cost.

The value is an allocation of purchase cost, not resale value. Tare accuracy matters.
